FS: Toyota 5MGEU twin cam 6

Post by stoneym »

I am selling my 5m motor, disassembled at the moment.
It is a mid sump version, and has a 6m inlet manifold.
At the time of removal it was still working beautifully with only minor tappet noise, and a brand new cambelt about a month ago.
These motors love to rev and spin your tyres free of that mud with
approx. 140 hp and 200nm torque

I am offering it to ORE members for 150 bucks but if its not gone soon then I will be posting it to trademe for a little more.

I'll post some photos of it soon.

If you are interested then give me a call on 021 244 2126
Cheers, Colin.

new price for ore members is 100 bucks.
this is because i want it gone and i don't really need the dough as my 6m was only 400 bucks!

Hey mate, I have to say its being sold on an as is basis.
This is for a couple reasons, I took it out to fit a 6m motor which is running great now, but I did switch the inlet manifolds over aswell as the sump. This was because my old 5m manifold was all ready set up for my lpg system, and my 6m mid sump wouldn't fit under the independent front suspension without modding the engine mounts.
So it is set up for the injected petrol system, but does not include a wiring loom as I never had one to begin with. The mid sump should work just fine, but that said I have never tried it. These are the reasons it's going so cheap. It would really be ideal for someone who has already got a 5m thats a bit tired to use as a donor for some fresh parts. Hope this helps!

I'll try to post some photos of it early next week as its in bits at my mechanics shop.

Also, the head has been planed to raise compression slightly, work done by previous owner.

As above I'm in Mount Maunganui, BOP.
I don't really need it out of the garage for a little while, just whenever you can come get it really.

So the motor is in pieces at the moment. going back together soon but may scavenger the head for little project.
