Hi can any one tell me the touque breakaway pressure on a 8" Toyota LSD Diff. This is when you hold one axle and turn the other axle.I think it's about 50foot lbs.

Found out info from a suppletment on 8" toyota LSD Breakaway touque.
Toyotas is from 30 to 80 ft lbs when axle is turning at 5 to 10 RPM, useing a touque wrench on one axle with the other stationary. If its inbetween this it will be acceptable.
Does this mean 300ft lb's is too much? Think thats around what my mate did his surf one to. Used to bang bang bang round corners as the clutch packs wound up and let go
Can anyone tell me what size shim thickness would be a good starting size to beaf up a 8" LSD. Someone may have done this exersize in the past. Any info would be helpfull

Just a follow up on this topic, Before we started , the diff had approx 30 to 40 Ft Lbs Breakaway(turning one axle against the other ) We fitted a 60thou(thin penny washer) which brought it up to approx 90Ft Lbs of breakaway.NOTE this was an 8" Prado diff. Seems to have done the trick.Kevin
