Terrano Lift

Post by 4x4newb »

Hi All. Been lurking here for a bit and have searched etc, but dont have the definitive answers to my Q's.

I want to do a S/L on my R3m, by cranking/re-indexing the torsion bars and fitting new coils at the rear. Do i NEED new rear shocks? or are they just a good idea? What about the front springs/shocks? what would be the offroad benefit from replacing those?

So i do a basic 2" lift, will i still be stuck with 31's or will i be able to squeeze 32's under there? What are the negatives with a minor body lift?

Lastly, best tyre? Currently have 31" Pirelli Scorpion A/T's. The truck sees mud quite a bit as well as pavement. The pirellis don't quite have the bite i'd like.

Cheers
Sam

i did a 3" calmini lift and 2" body lift and put true 33'' tyres on but i cut the guards. no point putting new springs in and leaving standard shocks as you will get no benefit from the extra travel. the front end will never be great as it is ifs.

Yeah, i'll live with it (the IFS) for now. If it annoys me too much i'll just sell the truck and get something with a solid axle front.

but cheers for that. shocks/springs on the shopping list for next month.

i have some dobi 2 inch lift springs less than 200ks old for sale if your interested. if your rear shocks are after market then they will be 2inches longer than factory.

32's are a tight fit. all depends on the offset of the rim

look at www.nissanpathfinders.com for more info

How much you want for those springs? As far as i know, shocks are factory, so will need replacing.

Oh, and you raise a good point. I want to upgrade my rims, whats the best offet to get to allow 32's etc? The truck is a widebody and has flares - though i may yet take them off.

I have a pair of munroe shocks from the rear of my truck that were used when I had my 2" suspension lift. They are in good order and up for grabs.
Will get size of them later tonight.
I only replaced them as I put heavier springs in the back due to all the shit I carry and longer travel shocks again. I can now get tyre rub in the guards with only 31's on!, no swaybars of course.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.
