I noticed in the pic of the dash, that there seems to be centre lights for the automatic transmission indicator

was this originally an auto, if so has the manual conversion been certed etc etc etc

and you say drivers window is hard to wind up, is it electric or manual

My reckoning is its a factory non turbo manual diesel as advertised. I doubt its been converted due to the cost, cheaper to sell your auto an buy a manual....

I will investigate further tomorrow, If anything I think toyota may have used same speedo across a few models, or a previous owner has swapped speedo, or the possibility a previous owner has had it converted it to manual [If so its been done pretty well] The possibilities are endless but thanks for pointing it out, all ways good to have a nit picker on board.

Hi mate, Do you know much about the history of the truck?

I see its was parked up for about 4 years a few years back? and only travelled a 1000 odd kms.(maybe a refit or rebuild?).

The last WOF details a role back in kms of 5500kms since the previous WOF a year ago (could indicate a speedo failure and possible change).

Is there a spare wiring harness or loom behind motor? this may still have the trans selector module attached locked into the drive position to trick computer which would potentially indicate gearbox refit or there could be two plugs unutilized nearer to the starter motor?

I take it this truck does not have the lockers? I also notice it has manual hubs, was it full time 4wd or have the centre trans lockup on the dash?

That's not a bad price for the overall package.

If you check the tag for transaxle auto will be A340 or whatever and the manual trans will be H150 or H151 - can't remember.

It's important to know incase that needs to be certified, it may just have had a speedo change.

I know very little of the 4WD's history. I bought it to use as a tow wagon just over a month ago, then got made redundant last week.

I have called VTNZ they can't say whether it was imported as a manual or auto they don't even know the engine number. On my hiluxs there is a plate stamped indicating which model it is an what engine transmission. I will have a look when im home from work and post them up which should shed some light on this.

Manual part time 4WD cruisers are labelled GXL's in australia and are common there, I'm guessing its one of these.

If you are interested in buying it I would suggest coming and having a look and doing your own inspection as you seem to know what to look for. Are you interested in buying one or just interested in poking holes in it? Its under 2 hours from palmerston...... you could be here by lunch

Hey mate im not picking holes in your rig nor am I trying to berate it for a price reduction, these are a great truck and as Skid points out I do have a few of these rigs and sold a few also. Stick to your guns on a your price the manuals are few and far between but they are out there.

Good to see the tag details credibility with factory specs This rig shows standards that it was potentially built to the aussie spec. I too was about to comment on the handsome wing mirrors and the non existant flares.

Shame you are considering sale of this rig and not your luxies first, this rig has good potential to be an awesome off/on roader. If I get a chance to head down your area I will try and get intouch for a possible veiwing.

As someone has pointed out on trademe there are anomallys in the speedo recordings at wof inspections.

Re the price, Having it listed so low was dragging in a lot of bottom feeders offerring me there mums carolla sacked out on 17s etc etc, so I adjusted it. If someones wants to buy it my numbers on the first post.

The speedo is not faulty - therefore I dont see it to be a fault.
