I had the intention of sitting about 30mtrs away and winching him so i would limit the amount of course i was going to damage, but the winch decided to pack a sad (actually, i had unplugged the bloody thing this morning while playing with a headlight and hadnt plugged it back in again, didnt click until after
) so we had to pull out the snatch strap.......The fairway didnt fare so well as it happened, (spectators were cheering at the rooster tails), but they were happy to get out, lots of bowing and handshaking and more bowing ensued. (they're Japanese) My lad got a fist full of chupachups, and some free rounds of golf next time we go there. All good (I lost by 3 shots over 38 holes!!)
On the downside (and Jerry is just going to have me on a platter for this) neither van nor truck had towhooks, so i had to loop the strop under the towbar mounting bar and back over the tongue. Rationale was that if anything were to bend or break it would be the tongue and it would be pulling back toward the front of the vehicle, and hence was of no imminent threat to anyone......
