Bubbles Pajero - Winch Bar / Rear Bar / Side Bars

Post by PR »

Well a couple of months ago I brought the missus a 1991 SWB Pajero J-Top  . It has a rear diff lock / 50mm body lift / snorkel and 33”ATRs

Image
On the day I went to pick it up it got towed by the city council as an abanded vehicle  as it was on the road with no WOF or REGO but I got it back at no charge
Image
It had a bit of damage to the front right steering as the owner had hit a rock at 80kph

Replaced all the bent parts (except bumper) and power steering unit a couple of weeks ago with the Help of SteveT647 for $120

Then on Wednesday Steve and myself headed down to 4wd Accessories top bend the pipe up for the front bar

And where I am up to today

Should be a good toy and worth a fair bit more than a grand when your done with it. What sort of winch you looking at putting on it?

Also now that you have had practice on that bar you might as well make me one to haha :D

when i saw the first pic i throught you had brought my old girl.

you need to find some rear springs out of a lwb, that will lift you 1'' at the rear.
flip the ball joint at the front, then wined up the bars.
body lift easy but the front two bolts are captive.

ill call you later pr.

off to sumner to go play in the surf

They are the same. Best way I reckon is to cut the chassis at the rear to lift it all, chassia and all.

Did not get much done today as I tack welded it up and I did not like it so redesigned it  Start again tomorrow

I am not moving the fuel tank but should have enough steel plate left over to do a decent bash guard
