new isuzu, tyres???

Post by colonelburga »

hi, my names matt and i just bought a 89 isuzu bighorn swb 2.8td. It currently has 31x10.5x15 savero AT's but they are pretty tuned up, so I wanted to get some new tyres. Truck will be used roughly 50 % of the time off road, mainly on sand and gravel tracks. what would be a sweet and not ridiculously expensive tyre to replace the saveros, or should i just get another set of saveros. Any experinced input would be appreciated.

For sand?
IMO i wouldn't use those for sand, they're too aggressive and will just dig. I would get a set of road tyres for the sand, i have almost bald hankook rt03 muds and they go amazingly well in sand.

Have you tryed them in the sand? I run mine at about 20 psi when i hit the sand and it makes quite a difference. Will have to have a play out muriwai some time when i get my truck sorted. I reckon they should be sweet but try them out first and see what you think. Don't know much about duelers sorry so can't comment, i've only had one set and i got them about a week before i sold the truck so didn't really test them out.
Cheers, Tim

decided on nankang N889's because they are pretty good value.

Tryed out bald Saveros on sand, they went surprisingly well. might keep em for summer.
