CHCH Acland meeting

Post by albundy »

Christchurch
7-9 pm, 13 June 2006
Sudima Grand Chancellor - Concorde A Room (Cnr Memorial Ave and Orchard Road, Christchurch)

Who's going tomorrow night :?: Do people want to meet there or somewhere earlier for a wee tipple 8), any ideas where  :?: . Would really like to see the 4wdriving fraternity well represented in CHCH and keep that 4wd representation going at the meetings. Can't let those Nth Islanders have all the fun now can we  .

for what its worth.. but, I see on the news and heard on the radio news this morning, that the local 4wd club was called in to help with getting people to work and towing them out of the snow. I can't work it out, first we are using all the arabs oil resourses, then we have the most dangerous vehicals on the road, now they want us to stop us from using these designed built vechicals off road... but the first sign of trouble..... who do they ( goverment officals) call ??? yep you guessed it :x

Ill crawl back under my rock now

Hey Steve, I am a member of CLROC as well. Lead the Conway trip on the weekend. I was busy trying to organise my own staff to get into work, sucks working in an essential service:nursing. Think I will just organise to meet there as I need to tighten a wheelbearing this afternoon and I might cut it fine if this meeting is starting at 7pm. See you all there.

Cheers Ric, unfortunately Mrs is insisting upon working late to catch up from time lost to snow yesterday :x . So can't make an early escape; depending on exactly what time she gets home and saves me from the pre-school terrorist, will make a late entry. If all goes to custard, add my projected voice to the debate  .

Lucky for all you guys the meeting has been postponed due to weather. Pity it didn't make it to the site, save me some petrol. Hope there will be more interest and less excuses when they reschedule. think it may be on the 22 june.

I called the venue to check address and room as I was running late they told me it was off.

Is that a good enough excuse. I was keen on using there heat to warm me up

Funny you should mention that - I remember Linda Simpson telling the story of picking up a nurse from out Darfield way in the last big snow only to get there and find said nurse had an 80-series in the drive... turned out she bought it to tow her horses and apart from noticing some odd looking levers had never wondered what they did...

Some people

Yeah, Rik and I got there only to find it was canned as well... damn useless twats... like it was too cold for them or something??? Weather is a piss poor excuse to cancel a meeting...
