Post by NJV6 »

Thought I might put this on here in case parts get about and some of you are into this.

Both bikes were Yeti's.

1st,
Yeti 303 with boxxer forks. Bright orange chain guide - very rare bike

2nd,

mmmmm...yeti... I too had one, DH6 non production model from the worlds a number of years back, when 6" travel was HUGE

Sucks they were taken, and no doubt to be stripped for parts, as the frames would stand out a mile away :x

They were a friends and flatmates bikes

This is the 303 nearly complete but there was a two day old set of new handlebars on it. Simply by the design of the shock you can see it is different to most bikes and so this frame will really stand out. IT was finished being built on SUnday morning.

This was the DH9 complete as it was being ridden. This is just before my flatmate broke his collarbone on Sunday then by the next morning they were stolen

Just to regurgitate this thread....

Still no sign of them and finally after 7 months, the insurance company has decided they will only pay out $950 as they don't believe the 303 ever existed and the reciepts provided were made up by friends.

Yay for insurance companies huh......

Police recovered one bike. It was the DH9, had been spraypainted red and purple. It had the seat post and seat off the 303 on it.

Still no sign of my mates 303. The guy's place the DH9 was found at said it was just dropped off there. We have to believe him as he was inside at the time of theft - and they reckon this should put him inside again
