This question gets a different answer every time its asked.

I've always heard that you cannot certify modified rims.

If you download the Low Volume Vehicle Standard for wheels and Tyres it outlines the wheel modification, track, offset widening, welding, hand built, beadlocking etc.....

"a wheel fitted to a low volume vehicle may be modified, provided that the modification is carried out by a person who is recognised by a low volume certifier as: blah blah etc"

The catch and why there is a different reply each time is becouse of two little parts in the LVVC rules
"by a professional"... now to some certifier's that means ticketed welder, to others if you make your living from modifing automotive stuff then that is acceptable
"in a business that specialises in"... if they are being difficult that leaves very few places that are rim specalists, I argued that part of my buisness was modifying rims for a 4wd's and have been allowed... but I did have to demostrate my techneques and prove the end product was acceptable

So in the end as with most cert stuff, talk to the guy you want to cert the truck... oh and if you don't like what you hear talk to someone else  , at the end of the day its there interpretation of the rules you are working to
