Can be OK, some big sharks around if you wanted to have a bit of land based fun

Other side of the entrance (Grave yards) is better... but a long way by land.

Could stop off at Sanfords on way up and fill up a 200ltr barrel with offal to burly them up

Might need that big winch of yours Ben - hope you've got some stand up game gear (or a game chair in the back of the 40  ).

I have thought about pulling a longline out through the surf up there using the kayak (as I dont have a real kontiki). could be keen for a day up there if I can get a truck going anytime soon :(

Need to drive a mincer off the PTO  Could set up an awesome burley trail with the currents up there wouldn't be hard to get the sharks around.

speaking of land based fishing im off to fraser island off the sunshine coast of australia for a week in september. bit of 4wheeling, bit of fishing, bit of boozing :) 8) . semi anual trip with my dad. meet my 2 uncles that live in brisbane and off we go. im not showing off  just saying  :) . last time we were there a dingoe stole my shoes. and walking to/from the pub at night is out of it with a couple of them trotting along behind ya. not liklely to attack ya, they are mostly just scavengers. but if you go down or try sleeping under a bush they might try for a taste. the camping grounds have fences to keep them away from tents. if ya havent been there its well worth the trip, no actual roads just sand and dirt tracks. youre only allowd 4x4s on there.

A mate took me fishing yesterday in the Kaipara in his tinny. We were fishing just past the lagoon at South Head.

Got a bin full of fish with snapper up to 8lbs but the highlight was...

Caught a 7 Gill shark that would have been an easy 8ft and weighed over 100kgs  Got him right alongside the boat. I traced him and not long after that he straightened the 7/0 hook - was pretty happy about that as was struggling to hold him and saved us cutting the trace

I'm down in Welly but would road trip upto Raglan for some shark fishing if it was to happen.
Two down sides, I'd have to come in my normal vehicle not 4x4, and I don't have the tackle to land such beasts but that can be fixed!
