Tow Hooks - Safari

Hi

Anyone have any advice on what type of tow hooks, and where to attatch on swb nissan safari?

i have a safari with winch i got a enginner mate to make up 2 brackets that bolt to each side of winch using 3 frt bolts it L SHAPE & MOUNTS TOW HOOKS :D

On the front you can bolt them to the ends of the chassis rails: something I have done one one... upside down, two bolts through and used the bullbar mounts as bracing... If you are going to mount them without bullbars or similar it may pay to make a brace from 40 or 50mm wide 6mm angle iron or similar to go inside the chassis rail to brace the hook... then bolt it to the side as well as the two bottom ones... seen Safaris twist up the chassis rails at the ends from stress...

In the rear, get a Nato hook (pintle hook) and bolt it with 4 good quality new bolts to the factory position... and don't use it too vigourously... or make something like a rear bar that mounts to the chassis rails either side and has heavy plates for hook mounts at the end of each rail...

Just wondering where i can buy a hook to suit the factory position at the back of the safari?

Jacko what area are you in. CCVC has done some extension testing of both tow hooks and pintle hooks and the mounting of them.

Not sure if the results are for public - will check and get back to you.
