FJ70 Landcruiser Engine Farting and Power Issues

Post by Kempy »

Howz it going team,

Had my landcruiser running mint but all of a sudden it went back to missing and farting real bad and idling erratically. Put your foot down on the accelerator and there is no oomph at all. It doesnt even have enough power to drive a small distance. Almost dies when idling and sometimes it does die. What do you think would bring about such a sudden change of temperament?

Any help to kick things of would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Kempy.

Throw a new set of points in it and check the timing first

Brand new set of points have just gone in a week or two ago and timing was done today. It was tuned and running sweet then it died all within a day.

Coil, condensor, dizzy cap, rotor, points all replaced recently. That narrows it down a little.
