body adhesive

Post by flyingbrick »

I'm after a thick body pannel adhesive/sealer/poo similar to what cars have pannels bonded together with from the factory. It needs to be a little flexible (eg straight epoxy will be ass) and fast drying would be a bonus.

Have asked at repco/supercheap and they have nothing of any use (however i did get a SWEET 9 LED torch for the glovebox)

Anyone know where to get anything like this?

I worked for a company that converted buses into motor-homes and we used sika-flex for all the panel fitting where we had taken out windows doors etc
I can't remember exactly which one (too long ago ) but have a look here

US Sika Website

NZ Sika Website

No easy answer as to where to get it though ...
Probably a company that supplies panel beaters and the likes ...
I will have to see if I can find the guy I used to work for and ask him ...
You have reminded me of this product and I have a use for some myself.
There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute strength and ignorance.

I dunno what they use but the cab roof on my cruiser has the guttering, roof panel and supporting frame factory bonded with adhesive, I was talking with my panelbeater a while back and I think he was saying something about it all being heated together or something?
