now i need a transfercase coupler, i know where one is just a matter of asking nicely i also need a hilux x-member..also know where one is hopefully ill be able to get it!

then its a matter throwing engine in the hole, bolting it to transmissions. bolting transfercase to x-member, thatll position the engine and then make mounts to suit.

getting there..............

The Motor went in pretty easy - the marks kit lets you use the original crossmember. The 130 surfs have the gearbox mount extended 'back' off a 'normal' Hilux one, but thankfully underneath the extra bit is the standard Hilux mount so this could be used.

The 130 crossmember with the original extension meant the new engine was mounted too far back, and it uses std 2LT engine mounts.

Only issue is the Front driveshaft will hit the auto trans sump becasue of the hi pinion front diff!

thats what im worried about! i can guarantee ill want more ive alreadythought about a supercharger or gettn a supercharged commy engine or twin turbos..

however i will restrain myself with glens help and nt do anything to the engine...........hopefully.

quick wee update..
new powersteer lines getting made up in town over the next couple days, fuel lines run, i now have heater hoses and radiator hoses, new brake lines 26" long. ill mount the commy shifter over the next couple days, the linkage needs to be lengthed or new one made thats no biggy just abit of 12mm rod.
and i pick up my new grunty 16" electric fan tomorrow so hopefully mount it this weekend!

once i get a fuel pump ill send it to the autosparky and thats the engine conversion done!

but still have afew things i wanna do before it goes for cert...atleast itll be mobile though!

Ryan.

its sitting in me autosparkies shed hes away on holiday and is letting me use it while hes away so thought ill do some of those wee jobs ive put off.

rear factory bumpstops r perfect length to run 35s and tuck into guard just nicely with the factory flares and not want to chew anything to bits.
i suppose i should weld in the front bumpstops too..just one of them jobs i never got around to, ill do that this arvo! ive got 10" rims, wank factor mainly and cos i can so with the large rim and big offset ive fitted conveyor belt onto the factory fibreglass flares. they stickout an extra 40mm.

this weekend ill seal the hole up round the hilux transferbox shifter, tint all the windows behind the drivers seat, make up 4 wee brackets to hold the new brakelines, extend the front diff breather and then give the engine an oil n filter change, fill trans with fluid, fill powersteering, front diff and transfer box with oil.

then on monday the man can start to do his thang!!

took it into macetown for its first trip, didnt get many pics of it working as the gf was in charge of the camera and got plenty of the other vehicles! Im pretty pleased with the result! no issues and the suspensions great, and im very pleased to be rid of the diesel and have some power! even pushing the 35s it goes good!!

here are acouple pics..

The 130 parked beside mine has a prado beam axle and lexus

You can see njv6's paj on the left, thats my ugly mug blocking the jeep then my 130 and mates 130 in front

was a nice easy track very enjoyable though, couple spots i shoulda made chloe jump out and take photos of the surf flexd but i was in a line and didnt wanna be holding anyone up.

It was as bad on gas as i thought either!

Yea seemed to go well! Nothing fell off, front axle still is attached to the vehicle even.

The 2.4 certainly wouldn't have followed the Paj up the josephville hill at the speed limit!

Don't forget spare fuses....

So let phase two begin........ 8)
