Hi all, new suzuki owner...

Post by Bazooka »

Hi all, my name is Hamish, I am 21 years old and I live in Christchurch. I have owned 2 suzuki’s in the last couple of years, first was a 1987 white tin high top Jimny 1300, I sold it because it was to mint to take off road and I brought my current zook, a blue convertible 1987 Suzuki Jimny 1300. My truck does not have a lot of mods, just 2” lifted springs, 2” body lift and some AT tires. I am a uni student but do a lot of hunting in my spare time, I brought the suzuki to get me to where I like to hunt but I have discovered I love 4x4ing and suzuki’s. I have lots of mods planned for my blue convertible zook and I hope within the next year it will be transformed. I want to put in a 1.5 toyota turbo diesel engine, coil springs, diff locks, 32” simex’s and more. Making it a lean mean hunting 4x4 machine. Good thing I have a mechanic for a cousin aye ;-p.

My first Zook.

Hi there Hamish, and welcome to the site.

There is a good bunch of active 'zuk owners in ChCh, as well as some good vendors. Keep posting pics as your mods continue.

Thanks...

Hey lneil, I was just having a good look around the site and found a picture of my cousins truck that you posted in the "Pictures please!!!" thread, a red Suzuki sj413 from Richmond, the picture was probably taken before he brought it but you may see him around, he lives in Brightwater and drives it everywhere, its red with tints and 30" muds, not a lot ells, has smoke issues  ... I also saw the fluro yellow vitara/escudo that you posted as well only a couple of weekends back, I was up Nelson way to pick up a land cruiser for a mate. All my relatives live around Nelson and i am from Richmond.

Small country...

Hi
Does the softtop have 6 stud wheels ? If so can you tell me the model number of the car and year ? Guys are trying to work out what they came off .

I have an identical jimny to your hard top but it was blue , decided it was to tidy to 4x4 also as it was mint with a/c etc . regret selling it now :( . Got a soft top also as a replacement , alas that has been sold now too .

Cheers
Chris

Yeah, both of my Jimnys have/had 6 stud wheels, the white one was a "Suzuki Jimny YL1300" and my current softtop is a "Suzuki Jimny ML1300" both 1987, both had factory air con although the blue one the last owner had removed it and my white one was disconnected.

I have seen a grey Jimny tin top (not a high top) around with 6 stud wheels too...
