Yea im not sure why he breaks them, I just re-call him saying that was the reason he didnt use the front air locker very much and also that is was capable enough with just the rear locker used and with Simex's, But i do know he runs the factory Nissan hubs.
I just wondered how the Hilux CV's were holding up in trucks like Richards that really get used and driven in hard yakka stuff.

Just weighing up options - I have a friend with a 5L for sale and I have a 2LT and I'm impressed with the performance of your motor and swapping the turbo gear over isn't too hard.
