It sits below the gears, running horizontal to the drum by the free spool lever.

Hmm that casing looks to have the same bolt pattern as this. Still different though. Maybe its the model in between Matt4U's one and this one here haha.

Well somewhere inbetween being a drunk and an electrician my father decided chequer plate would be a good replacement for a bbq?

Normally my mother has orchards on the BBQ table but at the moment the ####### things are on the deck so I can trip over them drunk in the dark!

Garden gnomes I really can't explain, we've never really been a big gnome people (pun not intended)

Rusty pickup, just be glad you caught sight of that and not the Blizzard, Landcruiser, Massey tractor and 14ft Fyran collecting weeds in the backyard!

Mangere really is a wonderful place to live, Coxsy lives just around the corner!

His new garden ornament is sitting on the BBQ table while he finds a spot in the garden for it. LOL

Come on guys, a good back yard has quite a few ornaments like I said, 3 tonne Landcruiser through to a Massey tractor!

We're smart too, we took the tray off the ute and put it elsewhere, now it covers twice the area!!!

And you think we're stupid, sheeeeesh

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway,

Thanks to Taz' link above I can assume it's a Superwinch Husky winch, whether it's a 8,500 or 10,000lb is unknown.

The only difference I can find is the 8.5k winch has a smaller diameter drum compared to the 10k - 2.6" to 3"

Not a bad score considering how much I paid for it plus getting the motor recond.

Won't they have different motors to? The serial is on that at least so that could be the final nail.

They both are listed as having 4.2hp motors, yet in the PDF file they are listed as 1.9hp.

From punching the number on the motor into the interwebs I have found that this motor is 1.6kw, which is 2.1hp.

Near enough, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt due to it's ages because everything looks 'older' then the brand new Huskys that have been linked.

Hahaha!!! Here I was thinking Claas tractors were special in having misinformation like that! Guess not  Whats the bet any other winch you DON'T want info on will be precise and correct. Always the way.

Exactly, I've tried to find information before and struggled for hours! Posted it up on an forum and within the first 5 posts someone has found it. Different search techniques, different attention to detail :D

This winch is big and ugly and wont fit on the front of a vehicle very well (in its past life was on a tow truck) so if it works after a rebuild it might go mid mount in my Blizzard
