Given skids circumstances (no insurance, finances, family etc) I thought it might be an idea to chip in and help him get back onto the tracks. The welly crew have pulled together and given labour and time to get things moving so I'm sure we could all chip in and get at least replacement oil etc. the cost of new engine parts alone will be daunting enough for him. I imagine that things are going to cost a lot to get back to where he was before his day dreaming episode, of commanding a U-Boat in WW2 in marks river
I have set up a donation item on the membership page. If you would like to donate more than $5 just change the quantity.
I'm sure any help you give would be greatly appreciated by him and he will always be in your debt (especially when your broken down on the track and need someone to climb under the truck in the bog!)
I still haven't found a job or got the dole and still working on rebuilding my 80 so only donated $5 but good luck with the rebuild.
Would like to do a trip to Wellington to meet the 'WELLINGTON SPAM CREW' so we'll see how things go will try and coincide it with a trip sometime.
PS: Mike, I added a forum membership to my order then clicked 'Continue Shopping' to go back and get a Skids rebuild and it sent me back to the main page, would make sense to send me back to the membership page so I can keep shopping
Nice gesture to start up the rebuild fund Mike, were all vunerable and shit like this could happen to anyone of us at anytime so its good to see the ORE community spirit show its self when someones in trouble
even a donation there from the un-waged.... good on ya mate
I would like to add as well Skid is a good Dude. I spent the weekend at Rallywoods with the Welly guys a couple of weeks ago and they are like a big family and made me as a stranger welcome with open arms.
Skid went out of his way to meet me at Johnsonville super market and take Janet and myself up to Rallywoods, and then Him and Jafa showed me some tracks while others played else where .
Cheers Richard

what the hell! you shouldn't be pressing "continue shopping" when you dont have a job and no dole As you dont have a job and no dole and your such a good bastard for donating to skid's cause even though your 80 is parked its probably best we just move that membership fee over to skids donation fund
cant really afford to donate money at this stage but could maybe build a snorkel out of steel tube? or donate the required oil and filters for the rebuild??
yeah i fucked that up ... mike send me some details.. msn or somethign and ill chuck the mony is also .. can offer capracorn pricing on bits .. but realistically .. unless your buying new pistons etc .. its of no use but if you find a bit you need... ill trade price and sqeeze the shit out of them for you :d

Thank you to all those that donated to skids fund.
At the last check over $270 had been raised for skid but a few more donations have come in since I last added it up. I'm sure skid will be over the moon with the generosity by ore members from around the country.
And just to to make yourselves feel special for donating, you also did it on the official "Random Acts of Kindness Day" for nz
At one stage SKID was not on my Christmas list due to a forum clash, but hey If we where all to agree on things we wouldn't need a Forum . Most of us have some time or other have been on hard times so after finding out how to change the amount I have hit the button. Go the TOYOTA SKID. I am sure when we meet we will have a lot in common.
