suspension so stiff

Post by firestonecruiser »

have recently done a 50mm spring lift in my 80 series cruiser. i have left the original shocks in. the front is so stiff that you can jump up n down on front bullbars and the thing hardly moves.the rear has good movement. i have used dobi sport springs for the lift. have any of you guys out there encountered this problem and if so wat have you done to fix it. i am going to pull front shocks out and see what movement i get after that. hopefully this will tell me either shocks are stuffed or spring rate to high.

cheers jono.

Do you know what the rating of the springs are? We know of a number of people that have ended up with a mega hard ride after lifting an 80, but not the case on our 80. If you see our thing about jump on its front bar (no alarm, just immoblised) to see if its the same. We have a great ride.

i think the spring rate is around 215. i purchased these thru autolign and talked to them today. if it turns out it is the springs they will replace with softer spring at no cost.

Our front springs are 240 and rear 200 I think. Try disconnecting the shocks and see if you still get hardly any movement by standing on it. Just get on it once and feel the rate and way it depresses against having the shocks fitted.
