New cruiser owner on the scene!

Post by BigRedCruiser »

Howdy i just got a 85 cruiser
Mid wheel base 3b 3.4 diesel non turbo frp top.
I want to turn it into a mud churning machine. . . . .
Any suggestions that wont break the bank?
Also took it offroad last week & half way the oil pressure dropped down to just above the low is this normal for it?
It hasnt leaked any or been burning it. :?:

Gidday and welcome to the forum mate, a red cruisers a good start

Dosent sound like the bottom end is very good in your engine if the oil pressures down

What area are you in... better update the details in your profile

yeah baby Big Red Cruisers Rock 8) 8) I've got the same truck as you :D maybe with a few mods  The oil pressure does drop once the engine gets hot, but it depends what you mean by low? Are you using an aftermarket gauge or the one on the dash? Best bet is to put a mechanical gauge on it and get a proper reading before you get too carried away. I'm in Ch Ch so can have a look if you're not to sure about it.

Don't listen to Sadam hes got a thing for bottom ends

low meaning just hovering above the low mark & its a factory dash.
Would be great if you could have a look sometime.
It does need a new rocket cover gasket would that affect the pressure at all?
( havnt had time to track 1 down & install it yet).
Im looking at doing mods so itll be mint for mud.
Any suggestions?
