pulled a rear axle out of a challanger to count the splines he wants to fit a locker, mitzi dont know FA about their trucks so no help there, so its a 9.5 RG 31 spline , then a ARB RD154 will fit, challanger don't even have a slippery diff in them, stink spec for a 4x4

Tryed to bring home my truck from my uncles workshop this morning. Got up at 4:30 to do it cause i was using my brothers ute to tow it on the trailer. Drove down, got all loaded up, drove for a few minutes then on to the motorway and pop, one of the tyres blew out at 70kmh and flung the tralier from side to side violently  , freaking the crap out of me.
Limped the tralier back to the worksop, unloaded the truck. Drove all the way home and dropped off the ute, got in my van drove all the way back fixed the trailer, then dropped it off empty at my mates place. :x

Got one good thing done though when i went back, put the lsd centre out of my stuffed 4.3 and into my new 4.88 diff head, then tryed out the 4.8 i chucked in the rear during the week in anger   Whole damn it is loose in the wet.

Not really a weekender, BUT. Just spent the last week in AKL, visiting with ny nephew. Spent FAR too much money, drank a bit of beer, Bouight a new cell phone, just another leckky toy, old one was dying the death of all lecky toys that are 7 or 8 years old.

Had to go to AKL cos I had won a Tardme auction.....

Image

So paid over my $700 and brought it home.

Trip back was a BITCH!! !GRRRRR 2 hrs to get from Te Atatu peninsular to far enough down the motorway to get up to 100Ks.

Took a whole HOUR to cross Hamilton.

Sailed on down the road, a Subway in Tirau.....

Ran into low cloud etc a few Ks south of Turangi and it stayed with me until Waiouru, heavy rain to help things along all adding up to 8 1/2 hours AKL to Wangas.... ARRRGTHHH!!!!

Glorious sunny day down here. Didn't get my truck into four wheel drive but was glad I was using it today. Went to Taylor's Mistake and was trying to find a park, all pretty much full until I found one that every one had avoided because it had a huge sloppy mud puddle to get into it, no problem - and plenty of room for me - Just a bit hard to get into the back doors and avoid standing in it. A bit later I noticed the nice wee car next to me had a scattering of mud splashes on it :)
Sold my 1985, BJ74 MWB Landcruiser, rear locker, 33" MTs, snorkel, PTO winch, solid bars all round, spotties, AM CB etc.
Now just a 1994, 1kz Surf, pretty standard.

weekend started on friday afternoon for me

was cruising past beer brothers work and though I'd see how they were getting on with the clutch, coz they should of been done, they weren't  5 hours later it was dark and we rocked out of there, home for supplies and round to the beer bach for a quiet night of drinking.

home by lunch on saturday, looked at the 80 as I ran past it in the rain and did some stuff around the inside of the house and maybe a wee nanna nap due to late night

this morning went to help my engine builder and retrieve a 40 for a new project for him, stopped along the way for a radiator and a perve at a crawler, then onto the 40 and more cruiser porn as he was rebuilding a 45 and had a few other lying around

back to his place to do some more work on his deck and then sit in the sun with a few coldies and a BBQ to make sure the deck was up to scratch

nice cruisy weekend

whacked the alternator in the terrano friday night, got it going sweet, still got a drain somewhere, so off to the auto sparky its going, once the injector pumps are done.

fixed the light and panel on the other terrano after I drove it into the side of a large parking building, sunday was out at castelpoint cleaning out a caravan, scored a primo beer fridge, now I just need to get permanent power to the garage.
