Re: 20/21 September
Drove to Tauranga for the day to look at a couple of Prados. Got one to look at down country and then I will make my decision (kind of made it already but got to tick all the boxes - hard to ring and say I will take it). All going well and I get the one I want I should be driving home on Saturday in my new shiney prado.
I will be gutted if it sells before I get a chance to look at it in the flesh and say I'll take it. I mean make the decision as to whether or not I'll take it.
finger crossed. 2 more sleeps to go.

Sure does, I've been working on it for ages, doing everything properly so i didn't have to do it twice. Been a pain in the arse having to drive 60kms to get to my truck when i wanna work on it and think I've got it pretty much sorted then this happens

sezzz mate , what number is that know? any idea what went wrong this time.
Number three

Don't know what went wrong. Started sounding like shit and missing a few cylinders then heard a clunk but didn't see anything fall off behind me. came to a stop and it just died.

No holes in the block this time and the oil dipstick looks fine. so i don't know what's wrong. Couple of shiny round looking things that I'm pretty sure weren't like that when i left on the bottom of the block.

Re: 20/21 September
Sent the truck in to get the wheels ballanced coz I was getting sick of the violent death shakes at 50km, they wernt too keen on trying to ballance them but gave it a go, got 900 grams on one wheel and the other three arent far off the same amount.... fark I think they were nearly out of lead by the time they finished

went to palmy to return a battery that was to small for a terrano we bought, the wanker we bought it off had been in and told them it was charging because the alternator was fked. so now its off to be tested. no money, no battery. was pretty dark.
today whipped out the radiator and the fan from the same problem terrano. get a new fan tomorrow hopefully, the old one has some canyons in it.

Spent Saturday marshalling at the Nelson Rally, then got busy cleaning up a spare rear diff housing with the sand-blaster and a paint-stripping grinding wheel.
Came to a grinding halt (pun intended) when I hit the knuckle of my thumb with the grinder. Man those stripping wheels cut through flesh easy!
Tell me, does blood cause rust? 'Cause if so, I'm gonna have to re-strip the housing, lol.

Took the Prado out with the local 4WD club, had an awesome time! They reckoned it was the only one to get up about a 100ft pumice climb but I wasn't about to try it with a 6 foot hole in the middle of the track.

Re: 20/21 September
fixed some punctures late friday arvo
did some cleaning and work on the 80 on saturday
went to a 40th party on sat nite which had a 60s theme.......

it was at Sigs house and we had the oil burner cranking again.....

but it seems every time we use it, we are learning. This time it was a biggy as some of the oil fell out and looked awesome as it was a big fire, but it was getting a bit close to the house, but was contained quickly. Next day we had to clean up the mess.....

got home after lunch on sunday and did some more work on the 80 and then the night before caught up with me and had to have a wee lie down late in the afternoon for a recharge

Hate to tell you blood does cause rust, it has salt in it. not as bad as sea water but still salty enough to cause increased rust.

that i could do, ill see if i get interest in these then consider 130 guards, bet the 130 guards would be alot more popular though so maybe i should look into that
