MY 34" Trekker 2's are getting a bit worn. It would be nice to be able to sort some replacements before the event. Does anyone know where I could get some decent 2nd hand tyres or a good deal on new ones? :?:

I used to recommend a certain tyre shop in Kaiapoi, but apparently they stonewalled me when I tried to set up to sell 4WD tyres independantly... of course for legal but-covering reasons I'm not going to say who they are... but I'm not amused about it. So now I'd have to say ring around - then when you have the cheapest price, ring Tonys tyre service and take up their $10/tyre cheaper deal.

As for the mudplug... I got the call last night while I was at the shed furiously trying to get my truck ready and Conans one finished... huge relief since now I can slow down a bit... got a nice new product coming up for the Nissan and custom-coil setup boys which has been an offshoot of trying to get ready for this event...

You could drive a steamboat with those babies. Think I might do the ring around and try tonies tyre service but I'm not sure that they will deal in the serious stuff. I was in there today and they were recommending Grandtrek MT2's (235/85/16's - bit small) and Good Year Wranglers( Not bad pricing but hard an aggressive tyre). Any suggestions on what I might use with a buget of $300 per corner?

my flatmate is getting the 33inch goodyear wrangler Mud terrain tyres installed tommorow took the price sheet in from the 4wd bits site on the home page in and they agreed to do them for $300 a tyre fitted at beaurepaires.

Apparently they get excellent milage for a mud terrain tyre if they go allright i might get a set in 32inch for the surf but would buy them from the 4wd bits site and get them fitted down here - cheap freight too they quoted $19.95 to ship 4 tyres to queenstown :D
