what is a good suspension/bodylift combination to fit 31x10.5 tires to my stock 85 suzuki sj413 :?:

you will have to cut off the bumper mounts to fit 30" and above on standard offset or widened rims. 30" will just fit if you use vitara offset rims. 30" will just clear the wheel arches with no body lift. If you want 31" you also need to flatten all the body seams inside the wheel arches. Any 2" spring lift will help your ride, you might be able to fit 31" without a body lift (most 31" radials only measure 30") If you use 15x7 whitespokes i think you will need a body lift as the wider track makes the tyres foul the firewall on full lock.

i put 2" spring lift and new longtravel ranchos on my '93 widetrack samurai and had 30" radials on vitara rims, took the swaybar off and it went real well.
