bad ass fj40
Re: bad ass fj40
who cares if the winch doesnt work, probably would never get taken offroad any way
Re: bad ass fj40
$16k would be a fair price i recon. But I recon it's more shiny than mine.
Not really my cup of tea to be honest. But coz it's a 40 it's cool.

I recon my mates friend Sue's 40 is more capable than that yellow beast.

Re: bad ass fj40
Fark he's just been photo shopping the whole time!
I'd say that yellow one will need a lot more coin put into it to get it on the road to considering it hasn't had a warrant since 99'. Could be worth 16k to the right person but I reckon thats pushing it.

OK, I'll bite...
That yellow 40 while appearing all street and show would piss all over Sue's 40 due mainly to the 38.5" swampers - clearance, clearance, clearance.
That yellow 40 would have way better approach, ramp over, and exit angles. The diffs would be further up out of the way avoiding getting caught up in ruts or on rocks. Swampers are much more aggressive mud tyre known for their off road capability. plus its got a v8 and locker to turn them all.
Its not what most of us are after in a 4x4 (price vs capability and hurt factor when you smack it up) but I'd happily keep the cobwebs off it for him

If he is in no hurry to sell I'm sure that he could get close to asking price - think that the lime green one on trademe running 38's sold for $28k????

Re: bad ass fj40

"What's the turning circle like with those wheels? peter401 (80 ) 10:53 am, Fri 25 Sep"....

Re: bad ass fj40
You were up early MNC. Changing nappies?
I'm glad you bit.
The reason I was saying Sue's 40 would be more capable than the yellow shiny thing is. Coz Sue's ACTUALLY (not like me) GOES offroad.
I'm not a fan of those rear flares either mate. Petrol filler doesn't even line up to em. If they missed detail there, where else did they miss?
I asked em about the turning circle coz I thought it would be crap, like mine was. BUT he says, "No worries in general driving about car parks etc. U-turns are no issue as I find no-one beeps if you get in their way, in fact most people are very courteous when your in this. Loose surfaces or wet road, just drop a donut, and that quick silver shifter gets you up and down the gearbox super fast. Note this truck is loud and has a good deal of inversion off the cam so has a lot of presence."
Bollocks!!!

Turns out Sue's 40 isn't a 40.
It's a 4X4 Toyota town ace with the van's body ripped off and a FJ40 shell thrown on the top.
She's a one off.
