MQ PTO onto to a GQ

Anyone done it :?:

May be able to get one at a good price. I know "F" all about MQ's but I reckon the gear boxes wouldn't be the same. Anyone know if the shaft lenghts are the same?

No. It won't fit. MQ is a four stud mount onto the box and GQ six stud. The gears are a different cut as well so a four to six stud adapter plate is pointless. Even the winch is different. The MQ is slightly wider in the mounting studs. That can be fixed with a little slotting of the holes.

So if I was to lay my hands on gearing from a GQ, I could get it to fit? It would be a matter of swapping them over and connecting to shafts. Are the shaft lengths the same, that's the big question?

dude the winch unit itself will bolt straight on including the shaft its just the gearbox side of it that wont and i think the gearing is alot higher............

Thanks guys, I think I will buy it as I can source the gearing adaptor from Jamie at rangiora.

Be interested to hear how you get on, as many have tried, but haven't heard of someone that has succeeded. Hopefully you do, as they are a lot cheaper
