Hey all.... my exhaust ect is sandwiched under-body of cruiser and heating up the floor / knocking on the floor , not enough room there after the v8 conversion ....
Im thinking i want to do a small bodylift either 1" or 1.5"
where is a good place to get Blocks? also Do the old factory body blocks come out or are they added ..
and what sort of cost would i be looking at for the blocks...
last of all what needs to be modded or looked at when body lifting ..
Radiator and fan shroud...
handbrake .. posibly brake hoses???
any others ??
bodylift 70 cruiser .. where to get and info
Re: bodylift 70 cruiser .. where to get and info
when i did my 70 I did a 2inch,i used 2 inch blocks on top off the factory rubbers..,we had to modify the gear lever holes and cut the bottom off the rad shroud, other than that everything still fitted/reached (starter cable was a bit tight as was the clutch line- but that was with a 13bt not a fire breathing V8) so i cant imagine with 1 inch you would have too many issues...

i used to Cruise, now i PATROL

Thanks , I have a new shroud that only covers top .. so that clear,
i actually have 2" body blocks in my Doner cruiser down the back I may use , Its just I kinda only wanted 1" .. But Hay its a free lift if i use those...
So can i use Those blocks without the factory rubbers to keep lower?
What was involved in modifying the gear lever holes, did you cut or bend them to make them bigger?
and last of all any tips / tecniquies On what side of vehicle to do first and best way of lifting the body when installing...
thanks for the help ... soo many things im trying to get done to get cruiser up to scratch

Nah keep the factory cushions in there coz you dont want to solid mount the body to the chassis

Re: bodylift 70 cruiser .. where to get and info
a BFG modified the holes to allow for full stroke

thanks for the replys ...
Had a look at the body-lift in my doner vehicle ...
all but two body blocks are Bolted on and the other two are welded these are located Middle of the rear tyres (but on the chassis oviously)
then looked at my cruiser at the standard mounts looked like just a rubber spacer without a bolt like the others ....
question is ...
what do i do there with the body-lift How do others put blocks in there ? must they be welded?
or is this point not a main mount and can go without putting block in there ?

done some research ... I think what im talking about are called bed spacers ..
Bed spacers can be thought of as "overload supports" as they only come into play when heavy, non-rigid loads are carried in the bed...
so will i need a block or spacer in there of any sort to have body-lift safe and be certable ?...
thanks all..
