35's or 33's

sorry about all the questions last one!!

Im currently running my lux on 33's but want to throw some 35's on.

has anyone here ran 35's on a 2.8 manual diesel lux?

just alittle worried about power loss and making 1st and 2nd gear to high

depends how much work you want to do, have a search on here and you will find info about moving your front diff forward which you will have to do to stop the 35s rubbing.
If you are newish to the sport my suggestion would be to keep your 33's and start with basics, along the way you will find things that need modification.
There is no point in throwing all your money at something before you really understand why you need it.

Im not new to the sport but I have always had suzuki's

just worried about stopping it rubbing, I just dont want to have to change diff ratios or make it a mungral to drive on the road

Yeah like rangimotors said its all do-able but you've got to start modifying things and the more offroad capable you make your truck the more of a pig it becomes on the road

apart from all the rubbing, guard chopping and rub issues on the firewall you put a lot more stress and leverage on your cv's and steering componants, tierod, drag link etc and the tall gearing is shit unless you hunt out lower ratio diffs

Leave it on 33's then.
With a 2.8 drizzle that is a nearly std setup with 4.3 diffs, all the above issues you have mentioned will be applicable. As Dave stated before, the easiest and best (imho) option available is to move the front axle forwards. Change the diff ratios to a min of 4.56, but 4.88 would be better (although weaker) and you will make it more driveable.

Sorry should have read not worried about rubbing, I can sort that. just the ratio change

what do you mean by you can sort it? they will rub in places that you simply cant cut off or smash down.
As to weather it will be drivable on the road thats like asking me to explain what speights tastes like to someone whos never had a beer.
Yes it will still be driveable, yes it will be slower, im sure you can do the maths and work out what percent slower but the only real way you will no is to drive it. You can always change diff ratios if its to slow for ya, anything can be done and probably has been by guys with hiluxs on this site. There is only a certain amount you can be told and read

The two things i can tell you and be sure of is
1. it will rub bad because 33's will still rub with a 2 inch body lift and 2-3 inch suspension lift. They rub when the truck flexs off road when the shackel swings backwards and the tyre hits the
rear of the gard.

2. It will be slower.

i have a set of 34 9.5 15s on my cruiser if you wanna try em on for size ?
being skinny they tend to be easier to clear with the lack of power the 3b has and 2.8 doesn't have much more from what ive seen and felt

You need to move the front diff forward, change the diff ratio's and prob suspension lift 3 or 4" or combo suspension and bodylift. To move the front diff forward and with the lift you may need a new front driveshaft, there are a couple of ways to modify to suit, flip the ball joint on the J arm and shorten the rest to suit the move or do the whole crossover. Both ways require certification.

As for power I know of quite a few people who have turbocharged the 3l and it does very well turning 35's before the turbo even after gear changes he found driving it a real struggle and hard work, after it is more like a car to drive.

Any lifted 4wd will have worse on road driving characteristics, I would still drive it tho but may also get an everyday car. It depends how serious you want to get on the lux being the perfect 4wd for you...

35's get deeper into ruts but other than that if you have a winch and drive well I have seen luxes on 33's go further than luxes on 36" simexes.
