Arms and tummy tuck on and in... is this the end??????

Post by xj »

FINALLY my adjustable control arms arrived this morning. So this afternoon the tummy tuck got dusted off and fitted up and the arms got popped in.

The previous issue that I had found when fitting the tummy tuck in with the exhaust striking the chassis was cured by placing the jack under the exhaust, unbolting the rear-most hanger and placing the right foot on the tailpipe, exerting just a little bit of weight (due to me being a skinny fella and all) and bolting the hanger back on.... problem solved.

My dearest has my camera, so before and after pics aint happening, but I'll get some after pics up on Sunday.

As much as what I have said before that this is IT... NO MORE.... I just cant help wondering whats next. (aside from 35's and re-gear, 'cause the regear part is just wayyy too expensive.

To date:
1) 33's + 8 inch rims
2) SYE and DC driveshaft
3) rear bar and tyre carrier
4) Home made front bar
5) Winch
6) 4 inch sus lift
7) 1 inch BL
8 ) 1 inch MML
9) Front and rear ARB lockers
10) Home made Tummy tuck (creating additional 2 inches of height, might get emended to 3 inches yet)
11) Adjustable front and rear upper control arms
12) Adjustable front and rear track bars
13) HD tie rod
14) Roll cage addition
15) Home made steel flatfenders
16) Safari Snork
17) Bikini, windjammer, deck cover, combo
18) replaced soft top
19) Dual coms, extinguishers etc
20) rock sliders

And probably more stuff I cant remember, or choose not to remember.

HHHmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...... long arms, super charger, AtlasII tranny........ hhhmmmmmmmmmmmm

If i was to build it from scratch and keep to a tight budget....

SYE and D/S
2inch sus lift
1 inch body lift
front discos
tube front fenders and trim the rear guards.
33's

I wouldnt go for the big lift, instead id be trying to keep the COG lower and keep wheel travel by opening the guards. Would still do the tummy tuck though.

However, as it is now, well, I wouldnt change a thing. Its cost a fair bit to do (by my standards anyway) but its all been a labour of love (and cursing too at times)
