Re: ln106 with kzn130 surf project
i have a 93 sc flatdeck 1kzte & auto ,4.55 diffs ,it flyes .
its a cheap conversion best to buy a wreck ,getting one with good kms is the trick, every thing fits in ,there the same truck just takes time .
with the auto i had to get the rear driveshaft shortened ,& a 2.5 in exaust thats the only costs involved.
i gave the cab a 25mm body lift to clear the 32 in simexs.

thanks for that so did you use the kzn130 dash and loom? do the front gards and doors bolt on? yeah ive got a wreak lined up with just over 100kms so should be good
Re: ln106 with kzn130 surf project
yes loom, dash, haeters ,the lot ,front guards doors it all fits .
but not the surf lights & grill, you have to un pick the front raditor panel &swap that over if you want the big surf lights .

Re: ln106 with kzn130 surf project
can i use the front screen out on the kzn130 surf? as its guled in rather than a rubber like the hilux? also am i best to use the front calipers of the surf? are they better than the hilux ones?
Re: ln106 with kzn130 surf project
not sure about the screen i thought they were different ,front calipers are the same its just the surf ones may be in better nick , you can swap over the rear brakes to .
cheers .
cheers .
Re: ln106 with kzn130 surf project
i say the surf ones prop are as the surf has done 116xxxkms and the double cab has 386xxxkms
Re: ln106 with kzn130 surf project
my understanding the calipers are different, have a different offset, the whole ifs caliper isnt in full contact with the solid axle rotor, grind a couple of mm off and shell be right http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/Forums/ ... =30&t=3543
toymota thats stock standard.

callipers are the same, what Kaney has written only applies when you put IFS hubs on to a solid axle to widen it out wheel track, and when the IFS rotor is used as it's not quite as large in diameter as the hilux rotor.
I hate signatures
Re: ln106 with kzn130 surf project
May pay to measure the calipers as my KZN130 that i wrecked run 25mm front discs and LN106's run 20mm thick discs. Also even though they bolt on because the caliper is wider you can't bolt your rims on without doing and an IFS hub swap as the rims foul on the caliper. just my 2c
