if i bought it what would be the best way to get it from there and trucked up here?

that could be the solution to a few problems...manual gearbox for my dad and some engine parts for skiddy and a few spare bits for me...

Lol I was actually being totally serious. In the photo's it looks like there is a hole in the cam/rocker cover but you'd want to pull it to bits anyway.

Only hard part is getting it on a trailer!

i could stick it on the trailer and bring it up to welly skid. or pack it in the container next week if that helps talk to kruste

can drop at my place in welly if it helps, easy enough to sort out a working day to remove the bits and get them on the way to where they need to go.....the rest can go to the scrap dealer for some $$$

got a wee bit enthused over the weekend and water blasted the engine bay....

righto, firstly the motor went missing out of the cruiser, now the whole bloody cruiser has gone missing...............

all of the felt pen marks are the cracks :shock: :shock: :shock:

bottom end rebuilt

found head was cracked

dropped off a head we found (thanx Sig) on Saturday

bits to be swapped from old head to new head etc etc etc


heard a rumour that it was going back in this weekend

I better ring and find out, coz I'm busy with work this weekend

cracks are normal for 80s around the ps box
FJ40,INJECTED SB 406 CHEV, LOCKER,35 SIMEXS,warn winch , 80seies vx 4.2 24v turbo diesel ,fr and rear lockers 3" exh top mount intercooler, 021 724482

as skid and sig have mentioned this is common, mine has done the same ( good thing we pulled my motor out too!! ) and even my boss's work 80 has cracks as well...


IF YOU OWN A 80 GO CHECK IT!!!!!!

checked my ol mans 80 today and his was ok but hes going to keep an eye onit from now on

its probably something to check for when looking to buy an 80 also
