Turbo Manifold - is this a decent price??

Post by doggoneit »

Hi, is this a decent price for the manifold?

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =247599611

Are cast iron ones like this alright? Lastly the big question - Is it better to buy seperate parts to turbo a TD42 or get a kit installed by a professional shop?

Cheers

These exact same manifolds are on ebay for like $300 NZD.

They are sold as being for the 4.2 petrol engines- but they fit the diesel.

If you need to ask that question then getting done professionally is a good idea. You can probably get more power for cheaper doing it yourself, IF you know what you are doing.

I was priced ~$800 for a high flow top mount from sinco customs in Hamilton a while ago. The work I've seen of theirs is really nice. Theres a recent thread on here with the twin turbo mod on a safari and they did the manifold I think. Unsure what it cost him though.
