Replacing dirty cheap batteries.

My 70 series 3b has got cheap battries in it the sca ones (previous owners doing ) & they are starting to loose their kick when starting the truck up.
What batteries does everyone use anything in particular I wanna know about.
I know the higher the cca the better but whats a good cca range seeing im on a 24 volt system.
good brand & good place to get them in christchurch??

got my last one from hbc in midas pl off annex rd
bit dearer than last time have been told bnt price quite good as well
as for size talk to the battery people and see what they recomend

I've told you before, unless they are in my area, its not worth it.

The courier price is around $40 - 50 per battery.

You'd probably still pay more for the repco ones that aren't incredibly great. If you know a mechanic ask if they can get the batteries for you from bnt. Bnt do very sharp prices on good batteries imo.

Get a battery with a 2 year warrantee. Most don't last that long so you get 2 for the price of one. My last Century battery lasted 7 months.

maaate, you must be abusing them

most modern batteries these days have a life of around 5-7 years

if they are not looked after, then sure it will be less

but 7 months is not very good at all

Marshall do 2 year warranties. A mate just bought some 650 cca ones $200 each at Hokitika Automotive could be cheaper at one of the main centres. I'll be needing a couple shortly.

Well turns out that my starter motor was starting to play up & was draining the batteries so now its at the mechanics find out tomorrow how much more broke but more better my truck is

I run 24 volts. have two AA sealed 650cca batteries. Good batteries. Got them from 4wd accessories. They have had some good loads on them with winching, run plenty of accesserioes plus fridge and all goping strong.

Yeah forgot to say I have two AA 12volt batts in my old Safari. They were in there for about 6 years I think before I sold it and they were still going strong.
