Anyone done something to actually have lights that are worth having in their vehicles? My prado reversing lights are piss weak - a candle in the wind would be much brighter.
Are these new LED lights worth a shot? At least they dont get hot.

throw a spottie on the back

Re: reversing lights upgrade
just want a decent flood of light so I can back down my driveway at night. Spots are too much and I want to be able to incorporate it in the lights if possible without running new wiring and relays.
Re: reversing lights upgrade
you can get low watt floods from most places, got frosty kinda glass and dimpled glass usually hella is good they might even be called work lamps, try places like burnco and twl

Re: reversing lights upgrade
check what bulbs are in your reversing lights. i doubt going to led will be any brighter unless they are very low wattage bulbs.
you could put bigger bulbs in but there is the problem of heat.
otherwise your looking at fitting a flood/work lamp on your rear bar.

I have a floodlight mounted on my rear bumper works a treat throws out enough light to see down my 100 metre long driveway & across the street.
Best way to go real handy for when your mate has to jump out to lock gates after you drive through !
Mine is incorpriated into the lights so it is possible to do but i brought it like that so cant tell ya how it works.

Re: reversing lights upgrade
I made a little bracket and mounted a cheap rubber housing floodlight in the middle of my spare. was dead easy.
I bet it works well but i've not bothered to wire it in yet even.

phone Ross Bolus (secretary of the BOP club) He'll save you.
Re: reversing lights upgrade
was thinking of a work light off the spare bracket but then what about the wheel cover? Maybe a cheap one on the bumper (or in the bumper) might be an idea.

Re: reversing lights upgrade
Narva make a range of LED work lamps which wont draw too many amps. Maybe able to wire it straight into your reversing lamps.
