Factory eyes or hooks?

Post by motorhead »

Are my factory welded eyes ok to hook a d-ring and strap to or are rated hooks the only way to go? I have eyes front and rear. Any other Paj owners useing just eyes?

Trying to be safe, Paul

thats a whole can-o-worms there mate :) .. My local club accept the rear loop as "safe" but asked me to fit a front rated hook. My advice would be to fitted aftermarket hooks front and rear (supercheap has them for $24 odd each), for the amount of doe and effort it requires to fit them sure saves the hassle of beig turned away from a club run or being refused a tow out by other drivers.... a lot on here, myself included wont snatch someone unless they have rated hooks, the chances of breaking/bending something is just too great.

for what its worth, personally i think the Gen 1 Pajero's hook *are* plenty strong enough for snatching (and have used them a few times on non club events and before i fitted aftermarket hooks) but they are not "rated"

cheers Meece.
