Post by 63swb »

Hi,
Does anyone have a series landrover that has seatbelts mounted in a way that the top can be removed? I have a series one that has seatbelts mounted to a roll bar, I want to be able to drive my series 2 with no top but I cant think of a way to mount the belts and i dont want to put a roll bar in. any help / pictures would be great!
thanks

The type of seat belt you require depends on what type were original equipment when the vehicle was first registered.

As a side issue i wouldnt be doing ay 4wding without a roof & NO rollbar....if you roll it youll be dead !!! as happened in canty last yr in a cut down surf.

Im not sure what it was originally but maybe i will go down to a vtnz or somewhere and ask there. As far as 4wding goes this vehicle is going to be for road use, got a safari and the series one for playing in the mud

hey mate, you should be ok with lap belts for the rover as its part of the original manufacturer equipment, as they were from factory, some had lap belts.

land rovers are just meccano for big boys and just mix and match real easy, so over the years the wof guys wont know what your particular rover came out with from the factory.

My 69 has a factory mount point on top of the bulkhead just behind the drivers right shoulder and of course pass left. If pics needed let me know.
