Clarence Reserve open days

For those interested DoC are opening up Clarence Reserve (near Kaikoura) on selected weekends. (31 Oct - 2 Nov; 4 - 6 Dec; 5 - 7 Feb; 5 - 7 Mar; 2 - 4 Apr)

Don't know, never been in there. Can't be that hard as Landrover club go in every year. Would definitely be an overnighter, early departure Saturday. I imagine it would be very scenic and alot of high steep ascents and decents.

AFAIK, its all gravel rd, with a few steep sections, but no allowance to venture off the main rd, and if going this weekend, go early. No doubt there will be a bit of interest from the locals with it being Marl. Anniversary weekend

Probably in December. Haven't decided on Westport as yet. I hear there is only tent accomodation left. In process of fitting PTO.

Just checked club calender, that weekend in December is our club xmas camp. So I may just organise this for feb or march next year.
