will be doin asap after brother n laws truck is finished and wifes car has had the panel and paint,
and cheers swampa, can you recall what size tank ya truck had,was it just the standard 60litre?and yeh,ive got no doubt ill chew it in a day but yeh, more interested in the onroad kms,at present with my gutless 3ye im only getting 5-6kms/l due to the fact i have to rev the dam thing to go anywhere and it wont hold 5th on motorway so sits at about 3400 in 4th the hole time, was hoping id get 8-10km/l with a 3.8 conversion meaning with the kms i do is save about 2500-3000/year on gas,so in the 1st year it would pay for the conversion and save craploads every year after

Haven't done a full tank on the road since i bought mine about two years ago, but when i bought it back from levin to orewa it was using 14l/100k but that was on 33s and 4.3 diffs so the speedo would of been out a bit. And i drive like i stole it so not much help really

no no more help than you think, with the 33s on ud have been out about 13% so u were still getting 12km/l,im gona be on 35s with the 4.8s meaning ill have better ratios and get more of the original power back meaning i should get a lil more than the 12 but will prolly loose that cos of higher rpms in 5th,but yeh,i was hoping for 10s,anything higher is a bonus, cheers for that

yeah i think thats about what to expect
but different motor and different managemnt gens give vastly different results
early stuff is a bit average while real late gens are quite impressively cheap to run

yeh i think itll be a bit of a hit and miss, end combo now i have the vechile is a vr motor via r150 diesel box through 4.88s pushing 35 a/t's,but yeh, itll ony be good untill i source and fit a super charger
,but in saying that im wanting to put on a switchable unit so can save gas when i need to & power when i dont care

Re: people running 3.8v6 com in their truck, help please
I get from 4km to 9km/l depending on what I am doing and how hard Im driving it. Got a bighorn with 3.8v6 small sc14 supercharger that is switchable, th700 with 35's toyota transfer case and diffs but not sure on ratios. Can really chew it up when off the road going hard
injection is good, but id rather be blown!
