j-dub came over and helped me throw the body lift in. also took all the carpet out of the truck. found a few other little things that need attending to while laying underneath it. ....................then fired up the barby and downed a few ales. great days.

pulled the whole pto winch out of the brown 40 put axles under it, supplus to requirements now so for sale
will do the tranfer to the white 40 in a few days and diff lock control

Went into Rallywoods, chopped firewood, boiled the billy a couple of times, sat in the sun and read my book.

Was impressed by one of the shareholders Nissan. He pitchpoled it at the Taupo 1000 and has repaired it already. He said the GPS log recorded them flipping while doing 82km per hour and when they stopped tumbling they went from 72km to zero in one metre :shock:

Finally started my body lift.
Along the way also took out radiator & washed all the mud out.
Also removed rear bumper so can get a good rear bar .
Ordered my KL71's & ROH steel rims last week....they are due early December.
Noticed that on my timing belt cover 2 of the 4 bolts were missing so replaced them.

Replaced my fcuk'd grille with a nice un-fcuk'd item from a forum member here (cheers dude). Tidied up the wiring to my manual shift circuit. got some work in on my intake plenum and finished up templates to do the aluminum sheet work.

Also finally found some 16x10" wheels which has made me very happy. :mrgreen:

Decided to roll under the truck to see what was up with the leak dripping off the bashplate. Looks like a leak from the transfer case - quite a big one. Took the bash plate off. Transfer case is basically covered in oil, where is it coming from?? Maybe from front drive shaft and coating the whole thing or maybe from the top and dribbling down over it all. Quite a serious leak anyway.

Also discovered one of the mounts for the PTO winch shafts was snapped so welded that up too.

Better get back out there to sort it all out...

Cut the back off dean(zookfest) truck and gave it a gard chop just need 2 lower it bwt 6 inchs now.

Spent 14 hours on Sat getting the last little bits and pieces on the Mistress done (apart from the A Frame Mods... thats being done by a "Real" engineer for safety reasons )

Flares on, Did a Quick and Dirty Wheel alignment to get it into town for a proper one, gave it a wash and wax "yeah right"

mounted the storage bins (old Ammo bins, kids wanted to mount a 50 cal on the roof and call it a Warthog! :lol:

) left one for tools, right one for recovery gear. mounted spare tyre on rim and it straped down between them for even weight distribution

winch in, pumbed and recovery hooks on, holes for the A frame to be drilled one it comes back from the engineer.

oh and I have the snorkel ro sort out one night this week.

Hopefully planing to take her out and play in the Mud next Sunday ... If i get the frame back in time.

oh and picked this up this afternoon for $3000ish to tow it with

oh and after a cheep small tandem trailer to stick the Zook on eventually ..not keen on this A framing lark permanatly

Spent Sunday working out how to attach the side bars on my saf, took a bit of thought to get the rear mount sorted but got there in th end. Rear hoop is held on with plugs and then bolted, very little movement as well.

Just have to trim the brackets and then they are done.

Front is pluged and then bolted to main bar

Will fit the other side during the week.

Got my steel wheels fitted & balanced - the guy at the tyre shop even shined the tyres, although they won't be that shiney for long! Got some rubber strip from Para rubber to fit to the guards as the rims have the -24 offset so they stick out a bit.
And yes I will be getting that snorkel fitted soon...

Here are the brakets back and front, the front one is the two parts I used. The two holes in the front body mount rigger are where the 40x40mm angle iron is bolted to then there is another bit that is bolted to the main body mount.

Here you see the rear one mounted to the truck, it's welded to the chassis then bolted to the part that is welded.

This is how I joined the rear hoop to the front bar and how it is attached to the rear bar as well.

Cheers for the photos. I've already got a mount to go off up the front from the sidebars but wasn't really sure what to do with the rear. You've done a nice job.
Do you need to get the welding to the chassis certed at all?

I have heard you dont need to, but I may be wrong there, doesnt matter to me, I will remove the bars when I take it for a WOF and make sure there is heaps of mud on it :lol:

nope i was failed a warrant in the Fez because "quote"
excessive mud obscuring inspection access to warrent of fitness items, please remove mud and debris from rear brake lines. :shock:

I make a point of cleaning off the brake lines before running it thru these days ... the other 150kg of mud under there the guys used to now and ignores ... makes me sweep it up though if any falls onto his concrete floor. :lol:

Yep if you brought it to me for a WOF covered in mud I would fail you becasue I couldnot carry out a proper visual inspection. I would also probably start to look real hard to see what you are tryng to hide from me
