Ball Joint Help

Post by motorhead »

I failed WOF for upper A-arm bushes so I am taking good arm from parts truck and was going to change out ball joints while there. Problem is between the two trucks, 3 of the joints are press fit and 1 bolt on, what gives. Arms are different from each other so will not be able to just drill holes in it. Anyone in the area have an upper A-arm with bolt on bj for a 90 square body Pajero?

Cheers

The bolt in ball joints were from the rounder >91 Gen 2 Paj. The press in ones were the earlier ones. If there is a bolt in one it is a gen 2 one that has been put in at some stage.

The bushes in the arms are a sod to get out and often will deform the arm when pressing them out. I bent one of mine doing the bushes. Easiest to burn them out if you can.

Possibly have one, but I am along way away. I think the gen two ones are longer and need a fair few shims or a pretty big lift to have the wheel alignment semi close to correct
