New Safari Owner

Post by DaveM »

Well, not really, but have just paid far too much for yet another (my 4th) Safari.
Completely standard SWB with 277km on it, in horrible 2 tone red/champagne. Not really what I wanted, but got sick of waiting for a lwb to turn up, so this will hopefully keep me happy for a few months

Not sure to what extent this will be modified, but at least 33's and a 2-3" lift with my old superior arm back on it.

hey dave, you actually seem worse than me for buying trucks and then selling, i have been living in nz for four years and have owned in excess of 12 trucks, 4 being safaris, 3 bighorns, 4 terranos, and 1 toyota. i really regret selling 2 safaris one white one being mint to the point of showroom and my first black one. i have my offroader now which i will not sell and my lwb which i dont really like, not becouse there is anything wrong with it but i just dont feel the love and its on borrowed time from one day to the next!! dont ya sometimes wish you could turn back time?

Tell me about it, some 15 years back got offered a XA coupe with 351 clevland fitted and all ready for the rear spoiler and cobra paint job (spoiler was in the boot) for $2000, but got all serious and bought a sensible car for the wife instead.

Now I couldnt buy one for love nor money for less than 20K - Bugger. Hindsight sux!!!

I seem to get easily bored with vehicles, and usually only keep them for 2yrs or so. The problem is, the last 5 I've bought and sold have all been SWB Safari's :?

The other problem is, I'm not 100% happy with this purchase already, so looking for another off road swb, or a lwb safari/cruiser for a daily, and kit this one out for off road

Yeah, thats me. Was going to buy your old Safari, but was waiting on a buyer for mine to get back to me which never happened. Was even interested in your current Jeep, but again, bad timing.
Sold the GU a few weeks ago now, and have been looking at a lot on TM, but the one in ChCh I was going to buy wasn't quite the price I was willing to pay, so I got sick of looking, walked down to a local dealer and handed him cash for this one

It had a sweet engine, I was just too lazy to lift it and put lockers in. Oh well.
Might sell Jeep and buy another diesel :)
