help/advice needed.

Post by tracta »

hi all.

just been down the servo to fill up the trusty(ish) steed with $20 of deisel. The attendant came out started doing his bizzo, told him deisel and noticed he was pumping the dreaded petrol in.

my question is this, he put through about 5 litres of petrol before I noticed, then put in the $20 of deisel that I had asked for ( so just under 20 litres) is this enough to dilute it and do no damage, or does it need more ?

advice needed urgently please.

better advice....don't put petrol in your diesel.

petrol removes some of the lube of the diesel. especially with rotary pumps it increases wear in the pump. with axil compression rotary pumps and common rail pumps it will stuff it big time.

if you do end up with some petrol in the diesel, pour some 2 stroke oil in. that should help restore some of the lube lost.
