Safari Sill cut/Sliders

Post by Shane »

Sills pretty bashed up so needed to repair for wof, desided to cut them off and replace with a flat folded plate for increased sill hight, that way I could get the sliders up higher.

this is the good sill

Cutting started

sill cut off

with plate tacked in place ready to be welded

all welded,sealed,painted

you can see were the sill used to be next to the front guard(just over 50mm up from std)

One of the sliders almost finished, need tidy up paint then weld the sucker on

sill damage was much worse than the pic shows,he showed me in the wof book even with full chassis can be a fail, was pretty bad and I did wont to sort it.

I have pretty dented sills as well but being integral chassis I am thinking of using 80x50 box section to replace the sills sort of built in rock sliders. but better talk to my LVVC guy first
