RWC 09

Post by wopass »

So the RWC 09 has been and gone.

now THAT is one hell of an event!!!

huge thanks to EVERYONE who helped make it as cool as it was, all the teams and competitors, marshals, organisers, etc, etc, etc.

i got bugger all pics as we was kinda busy  but im sure theres a few who went there that can post some cool pics???

we had a couple of dramas but managed to start every stage and only DNF'd 2 stages.

the front shocks are poked so bit miffed about that as they are the new you beaut RANCHO XL ones and they are now only a few months old and buggered.

filled the starter motor up with mud (cause for first DNF and couldnt start the truck half way thru a stage after turning it off to listen to navi.

and killed the winch on the very last stage of the event due to driver error

but apart from that i had an absolute blast and had my eyes opened wide the whole time  there was some serious tracks set in there :o

will upload the pics i have later tonight after ive unloaded everything

Haven't you heard that Rancho's are a cheap crappy shock that will never ever copy with a Winch Challenge! Hardly anybody uses them for WC as they just fall apart!
If you had a look around basically everyone is using OME, EFS or otherwise Koni, Fox etc. The rest just don't survive. Also you really need to be running at least 2 or aone very large bore shock to have them last more than one or two events as well.

i know the club class result...

yea yea yea we won!!! yea yea yea...

but it was only a two horse race and Gene blew his radiator to bits on satday and missed a few stages so basicly gave me the win  had he not had any dramas it would have been a different story but we still would have come in 2nd

as for over all im hoping Jungle or someone from Geyserland club can post them? full results with stage times, total scores etc??? someone out there with a big camera kept calling me nanna racing cos i drove so slow  so i wanna see how my stage times really compare :P

that would be cool

Bit of the 'Tortoise and the Hare' story in that - Slow and steady - at least you finished (and won club class). Well done.
