Site Statistics

Post by mike »

Hi All,

Thought I would post up the site statistics for October.

Page views = 951,066 (being a forum this is the relevant stat)
Visitors = 35,004
Unique Visitors = 13, 481 (depending on dynamic ip address allocaton this may not be so accurate)

Busiest day was Thursday 15th October with 37,081 page views.
Slowest day was Saturday 24th October with 18, 385 page views.

Over the month Mondays averaged most page views with 35,440.25
Over the month Saturdays averaged the least page views with 23,012.40

9am is the busiest time with a total page view across all 9am slots in the month of 42,300 page views.
9pm is the busiest time in the evening with a total page view across all 9pm slots of 85,175 page views.

Traffic is down to a lowish 45gigs this month, although i'm not sure how accurate this is as its taken off web logs not of network traffic. 50% of that traffic is on videos and 23% on images and the rest on general surfing of the forums.

cheers

Lets just say a page view is somebody clicking a link on the site and the page loads. So yeah 951,000 is normal for the site since about 2006/2007 . A percentage of those clicks are from search engine robots indexing the site. The more people post the more they have to index.

So yeah it is good, it means the site is not slowing down. If it gets down to 200k views a month then the site would be labeled as dying. If we grow to over a million (which it did reach in some months in 2007) then the site is getting stronger. At the moment, it has been consistent just under the million mark with a slight decrease in 2008 to around 870k or less in some months.
