will struggle a bit in places but fine for most things, you will need to rev the nuts out of it to get the wheels spinning (rev limiter is round 4800). I ran 33's on mine.

Buy a prado. motors are a bit underpowered but they have lots of the good bits too start a decent 4x4 platform. such as,,, coil suspension, good as standard, low ratio 4.8 diffs. lockers factory option. pto option.. when the motor dies which they do you will have something easy to repower with something else

I test drove a hilux fitted with the prado 2.4. It had 33" tires.

Most gutless piece of shit I've ever been that close to. Slower even than my non turbo heavy 4.2l safari.

stay well away imo

good points rite there, plenty of other good bits and repowers are strait forward, as apposed to buying a powerful truck with no other options....

2.4 turbo Prado's are great wagons & go awesome offroad, only one small modification required: pull out the 2.4 boatanchor motor & replace it with something more grunty & reliable

If you're not into doing engine swaps, scrape up the extra coin for a 3.0 turbo version, much nicer & less prone to expensive engine failure.

Cheers

If it breaks, build it stronger.
If it doesn't break, drive it harder.
