Y60 Patrol lsd lost its grip!

Post by LIFTED »

89 Patrol factory LSD driving for the first few months of ownership it was real tight.
Drop the clutch in the wet and the 33's instantly lost traction not to mention on the hoist i could only just turn the rear wheels by hand! Fitted 35''s (more load) got the 4x4 stuck, after trying to get out noticed right rear not spinning and it feels looser on the hoist.
could the shims in the diff have got hot or burnt and lost tightness, has anyone had this happen? Think its due for reco?

At a guess I would say it needs re-tightening. Had mine done on the terrano and shit it worked well, almost as good as a lokka.
