what is a good motor to repower it with ??
dont want it to be super hard ..

That lexus you were looking at on TM has all the bits there and should drop in easily...., would need certing ....
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)

The conversion costs are usually about the same regardless of what engine you stick in it, adaptor plate/bell housing, exhausts, clutch, computer and tuning, radiator etc etc...... might as well go lexus and get the best bang for your buck :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

There has been a few lexus v8 conversions done so lots of info out there. think the mid sump is the best fit ( but could be wrong). There is a couple that even do drive/tow in drive out conversions. Like to do the lexus in my kzj78.

3.8 v6 commodore motor
1996 3.4V6 Surf that was suppose to stay stock
2013 6.4 litre HEMI V8 Chrysler 300

you could just throw another 2.8 in it as its already setup for it....
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)

mmmaybe. But i was very heavy footed on very steep angles for far too long getting caught in the moment and it wasn't getting enough oil. Silly mistakes from a still relatively new 4wder and have (hopefully) learnt from my mistakes. They make very good power (as i'm sure lexus motors do) and i've had a lot of fun with mine. Have heard lexus motors can be very hard to get right in a conversion but the v6 is nice and straight forward. And not quite 4 only on to my third :lol: Lucky they are nice and cheap

Wot sort of economy do you get out of the V6?
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)

Have only done 1 full tank without 4wding in between or not towing a suzuki on trailer and that was when i bought it. Got 14l/100km from palmy to auckland through the wanganui gorge trying out the power of it
