Surf Transfer Grinding

My surf transfer seems to be having problems, It is graunching when it gets up to speed, and its wont disengage out of 4wd, gonna change the oil in it, and see if that makes a difference, other idea's ?

Yeah, looking that way, its off to the mechanic next week cos i cant be fcuked working on it anymore !

have a look at the oil and the magnet in the drain plug for bits of metal when you drop the oil
